This article from dataquarks, although written before the decision on Brexit was made, throws up some thought-provoking questions.  With an ongoing battle to find skilled workers within manufacturing, we may be heading for a further shift in the job market with competition between businesses for the best talent intensifying.

Whilst it is not clear yet what the status of EU migrants will be and the policy on freedom of movement, we should be considering the impact of our ability to recruit the skilled workers that we need within manufacturing.

Never more has it been so important to start looking at our own organisations and developing existing staff through training. At the same time, we must 'grow' new talent by increasing intakes of apprentices and graduate placements.

Manufacturers across the UK need to start looking at how they can influence the growth of these missing skills before it's too late.
