With the outcome of the Brexit negotiations still far from clear - and in fact having barely progressed beyond the future structure of the talks - the UK has been handed a boost with the confirmation from Amazon of its intention to create new research and development jobs in the UK.

Amazon is to take the entirety of the Principal Place building in Shoreditch, east London, so it can double its research and development centre from 450 to 900 employees. The company has already pledged to create 5000 new roles across the UK, bringing its total workforce in the UK to 24,000.
